Here at Studio 8 we recognise that hair loss affects many people in many different ways. We understand that there are not a lot of salons that can actively help individuals with hair loss, but we are proud to say we are offering a Hair Loss Clinic within Studio 8 Hair and Beauty. We will offer a private clinic to each individual client as we understand it can be an emotional experience.
What is Mesh Integration?
Mesh Integration is a system to help individuals who suffer from moderate to severe hair loss. We use a mesh system against the scalp which helps to support the hair piece. This method is perfect for those who have thin hair, bald patches or weak hair. Mesh integration is also used for people suffering with medical conditions affecting hair loss such as; alopecia, female pattern baldness, thyroid, menopause, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc..)
What kind of mesh is used?
The mesh is used with a hypoallergenic lace that is breathable and lightweight for the wearer. This ensures that the system looks and appears natural.
How long will the system last?
With adequte care, the system can last upto 1 year. The hair can be washed, styled and treated the same as you would do so with your natural hair.
How do I wash the system?
During the consultation, Heather will give you full aftercare instructions, so you will never leave the salon unaware of how to look after your system. You will be advised to wash the hair in a more gentle manor than you would your natural hair. We will advise you to use sulphate- free shampoo. You are also welcome to book in regular wash & blow-dry appointments with us, if you wish too.
How often do I need to visit the salon for maintenance?
We recommend you return to the salon every 6 weeks for adequate maintenance. Your natural hair will grow under the mesh piece and the whole system will need to be retightened. Visiting the salon often will ensure that your natural hair and scalp is kept in good condition. Tightening the system will keep it looking and feeling natural, it will stop unnatural movement in the piece.
Will the system ruin my hair?
Simply, NO. The system is fitted, maintained and removed correctly, so there should certainly NOT be any any damage to your natural hair.
How much does mesh integration cost?
Unfortunately this is something we cannot value until a full consultation has taken place. Pricing does depend on the area that needs covering and the amount of hair that is needed. We do however, offer free consultations to anyone who is interested in mesh integration (no strings attached).
Can I go to the gym / swimming?
Unfortunately, we do advise you avoid swimming while wearing the system unless you can completely tuck it away from the chlorinated water (i.e. Swimming cap). However, exercising in a gym environment is completely fine.
