What is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattoo. It is a semi-permanent brow treatment which uses a specific handheld tool and blade to create ultra-defined brows. The procedure includes dipping the small blade into the pigment and implanting into the superficial layer of skin. This method allows the technician to create crisp and realistic hair stokes. Microblading is a perfect way for individuals who struggle with sparse eyebrows , hair loss and other factors to perfect the shape and fullness of their brows. Microblading can last 1-2 years with the correct aftercare.
Who is suitable for Microblading?
This method is suitable for anyone who is wanting to enhance their brows. Microblading creates a natural looking brow, so is perfect for individuals who want to naturally enhance their eyebrows. Skin type can play a big part in how well our cosmetic tattooing heals, for example, those with normal to dry skin and with little to no eyebrow hairs are best suited for microblading. However, that doesn't mean individuals with oily skin cannot have microblading, it just means the pigment has more chance of smudging and blurring, so following all aftercare advice is essential.
Cosmetic tattooing is suitable for those over the age of 18 and must not be on any medication for Acne treatments, such as Accutane or Retinols as you may be more susceptible to excessive bleeding. You MUST have stopped taking this medication for at least 1 year prior to having any cosmetic tattooing. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding will also not be suitable for cosmetic Tattooing.
If you have Type 1 / Type 2 Diabetes, Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, Cancer, HIV or Hepatitis it is vital that you inform us prior to your treatment. If you have any any Skin Disorders, Allergies or Disabilities, please let us know as it may impact the treatment.

Is the Treatment Painful?
Some clients may feel discomfort when undergoing cosmetic tattooing. We try our best to ensure clients are comfortable and getting the upmost enjoyment out of their experience. You can purchase an ELMA cream from the pharmacy and apply 1 hour before your appointment (YOU MUST INFORM US THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS). We can apply a secondary numbing cream halfway through the treatment. It is advised that individuals with redheads, fair hair and oily skin tones may experience more swelling, redness and bleeding with numbing creams, always ask your technician for advice before applying the numbing creams.
Who is unsuitable for Microblading?
There are not a lot of factors that would stop an individual from being able to get Microblading, however there are a few points to be made aware of. Individuals with very oily skin to enlarged pores on the forehead. This is because the natural oils tend to break down the pigments causing the skin to reject them, meaning the hair strokes become blurred and lose their crisp hair stroke detailing. These skin types may need more top-up sessions which can cause more scarring and trauma to the skin. There are other treatments available for individuals with these types of skin, a treatment called Ombre brow/ Combination Brow may be better suited ( This is coming soon to Studio 8).
Clients with sensitive skin including eczema and psoriasis will also have contraindications as it may affect pigment retention resulting in more touch ups to be done.

Deposit
For all semi-permanent makeup treatments, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required. This is to secure your appointment date and time. The deposit will be taken off of the total price of the treatment when paying on your appointment day.
